eshmá is an independent service that provide professional support for people who have experienced abuse in institutional, religious or spirituality based settings.

We welcome, listen and propose a path of reparation and healing.

eshmá takes its name from Hebrew, meaning “I will listen.“ Listening is our foundational core value. It imbues everything we do, from our method to the proposals we offer. Listening validates people. Listening gives back to people their voice and place, which was denied them in the abuse. Listening without judgment liberates and heals. It allows broken bridges to be rebuilt and long neglected needs to be connected with. By listening we can make proposals for deep healing and reparation which is appropriate to the unique needs of each person.

Operating principles of the eshmá service

Listening

Listening goes through the whole service as a founding core and as a tool. From listening we can make proposals for healing and reparation appropriate to the needs of the person.

Confidentiality

We guarantee safe communication spaces and respect the rules that protect privacy, intimacy, and the treatment of personal data and information.

Personalization

La persona con sus necesidades de sanación y reparación están en el centro de toda la intervención de eshmá y es su protagonista.
The person and his/her healing needs are in the center of all the intervention of eshmá. He/She is its protagonist.

Independence

We are an independent service from any institution, entity, church or belief.

The maxim that presides over all our actions is “do no more harm”, avoiding adding suffering with the intervention.
